Words from "The Commander in Chief"

This is in support of everyone who may have a family member giving honorable service to our country and us. Our niece is proudly serving our country and appears to want to make a career of it, God bless her! It is insulting that her "Commander in Chief" should have such low regard for all those who are in uniform.

I doubt very much that this is what the majority of those who voted for Mr. Obama expected, and I hope this shocks them into realizing what they did on 11/04/08.

Let us pray and "hope for change" starting in the mid-term elections next year, and complete the "change" in 2012.

These are some thoughts from a concerned American . . .



Unbelievable President

"THIS HAS GOT TO BE THE MOST OUTRAGEOUS STATEMENT EVER MADE BY A PUBLIC OFFICIAL LET ALONE BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.  AND THIS GUY IS OUR "COMMANDER IN CHIEF".  HE IS A DISGRACE.

HERE IS HIS RESPONSE WHEN HE BACKED OFF FROM HIS DECISION TO LET THE MILITARY PAY FOR THEIR WAR INJURIES.

"Bad press," including major mockery of the plan by comedian Jon Stewart (MCzwz notes: a very liberal and strong supporter of Mr. Obama's), led to President Obama abandoning his proposal to require veterans carry private health insurance to cover the estimated $540 million annual cost to the federal government of treatment for injuries to military personnel received during their tours on active duty. The President admitted that he was puzzled by the magnitude of the opposition to his proposal.

"Look, it's an all volunteer force," Obama complained. "Nobody made these guys go to war. They had to have known and accepted the risks. Now they whine about bearing the costs of their choice? It doesn't compute..."

"I thought these were people who were proud to sacrifice for their country,” Obama continued. "I wasn't asking for blood, just money. With the country facing the worst financial crisis in its history, I'd have thought that the patriotic thing to do would be to try to help reduce the nation's deficit. I guess I underestimated the selfishness of some of my fellow Americans."

This carries through the theme established in the campaign that Americans who complain about being overtaxed are "selfish," "unpatriotic, and "potential domestic terrorists." That is the description applied by Mr. Obama and his administration to those of us who are extremely concerned about being able to just live, pay our bills, and maybe rent a movie with whatever little is left of our paychecks after paying our unending taxes . . . we are all "selfish!"
Here again, none of this is too surprising, as this was expressed for all to see in the campaign by both Mr. Obama ("share the wealth!") and his Vice President ("It's patriotic to pay taxes.") Perhaps, it is a bit starker, more insulting, to hear it continuously re-stated . . . especially in the light of patriotic Americans' expressing themselves, disagreeing with the government as is their Constitutional right . . . and being called "mobs," and "extremists," among other things, by their own government.
Add all this to the fact that all disagreement and dissent with the current administration is deemed to be "racist," it is no surprise to hear this kind of talk from Mr. Obama.

Please pass this on to every one including every vet and their families whom you know. How in the world did a person with this mind set become our leader? I didn't vote for him!!!

REMEMBER THIS STATEMENT (from Mr. Obama)....

"Nobody made these guys go to war. They had to have known and accepted the risks. Now they whine about bearing the costs of their choice?

If this person thinks he will ever get another vote from an Active Duty, Reserve, National Guard service member or veteran of a military service he ought to think it over.

If you or a family member is or has served their country please pass this to them. Please pass this to everyone.

I'm guessing that most everyone other than the 20-25 percent hardcore liberals in the US will agree that this is just another example why this is the worst president in American history.

Remind everyone over and over how this man thinks, while he bows to the Saudi Arabian king.

Please remind everyone, too, whether they voted for him or not, that in order to save our country, we MUST make a dramatic, drastic "change" in 2010 followed by an even more resounding "change" in 2012.

We can fix this. There is a lot of work to do to get our so-called "representatives" back on the right track. It is not too late -- yet.

1) Write, phone, fax your representatives and senators to keep the so-called "health care reform" bill dead and keep our health care out of the government's hands. The sensible thing is for the government to simply create yet another government entity through which the government can force the "47 million uninsured" to accept government healthcare coverage . . . and leave the rest of us, who are satisfied with our coverage alone.

Please also inform everyone you know of the other aspects of this bill. It is NOT just about "extending access to healthcare" as is it being advertised . . . According to an article in OneNewsNow.com, a Catholic pro-life leader calls H.R. 3200 the "Planned Parenthood economic stimulus package." We should all be outraged at the planned use of our hard-earned tax money.

Thomas Euteneuer, president of Human Life International, refers to a little-known section of the bill H.R. 3200: "Title V Other Provisions, Subtitle B, School-Based Health Clinics" on pages 992 through 1,000. This section of the bill deals with the creation of School-based Health Clinics that are to be set up in or near public schools [by Planned Parenthood]. "Kids will be taken into school clinics beyond the authority of their parents, and all  . . . indoctrination will go on. Sex ed will be given, I'm sure, very generously through these in schools as well," Euteneuer contends. "There will probably be very little oversight, and so Planned Parenthood will get away with murder as usual, and that will continue to form the feeder system for Planned Parenthoods abortion clinics."

This is not what our tax money is supposed to be used for by our government. Those who support abortion may contribute directly to Planned Parenthood, if that is what they want. They, along with all other nonprofit organizations may apply to the government for grants and subsidies (also our tax dollars) but they do not deserve to be directly funded through a bill presented to the American people as specific for our "health care." The government does not have the right to directly allocate our tax dollars to the support of an organization that a great many Americans do not support.

It is an even more disturbing, not to say revolting, realization when one knows that the monies intended to be allocated by the current administration are nothing more than payback to Planned Parenthood for their very vocal and active support of Mr. Obama's candidacy and election campaign (side-by-side with ACORN, HCAN, Moveon.org, and other notorious liberal groups). Write, phone, fax your representatives to get them to not allow abortion on demand to be slipped into any final version of any bill.

2) Write, phone, fax your representatives and senators to put the final nail in the coffin of the "cap and trade" bill (aka Waxman-Markey bill) before it puts the final nail into America's economic coffin. According to The Wall Street Journal in June, "The hit to GDP (gross domestic product) is the real threat in this bill. The whole point of cap and trade is to hike the price of electricity and gas so that Americans will use less (electricity). These higher prices will show up not just in electricity bills or at the gas station but in every manufactured good, from food to cars. Consumers will cut back on spending, which in turn will cut back on production, which results in fewer jobs created or higher unemployment. Some companies will instead move their operations overseas, with the same result."
If one follows this thread to its logical conclusion . . . our country may well be on the path to complete economic destruction if this "cap-and-trade" bill goes into effect. The Wall Street Journal continues: "[a] better indicator might be what other countries are already experiencing. Britain's Taxpayer Alliance estimates the average family there is paying nearly $1,300 a year in green taxes for carbon-cutting programs in effect only a few years."
There is evidence all around the world that countries that adopted similar plans very quickly repealed them: Australia is one. They immediately saw the folly in the premise that there is a methodology to tax producers for their so-called "carbon [dioxide] emissions." One wonders, when looking at this premise, when individual human beings will also be subject to this tax . . . after all, we each emit carbon dioxide with every exhalation we emit.
3) Please write, phone, and fax your senators and representatives to demand they stop attempting to destroy the Constitution of the United States, most specifically, our Bill of Rights. Attempts are on going throughout the country to curtail the Second Amendment (our right to bear arms to protect ourselves), and there is a concerted effort from the liberal community to shut down any dissent or disagreement by destroying the First Amendment (right to free speech). Their attacks on individuals (specifically conservative talk radio) will also affect each of us who ever wants to express our disagreement with this administration.

Please keep in mind the most recent plan to abridge our right to free speech. The newest government "czar" will control the internet and will have the power and authority to shut down the entire communications system whenever the government deems there is an "emergency that threatens national security." Those of us who disagree with the government have already been labeled "domestic terrorists" by Nancy Pelosi, Henry Reid and others . . . how much more will they need to declare that what we say and type and share on the internet is a "threat to national security," and therefore must be shut down? Shutting down the free-flow of communications and expressions of disagreement and dissent is the first, strong, emphatic step to Socialism.

All of these things, should they be passed into law under the current liberal administration, will have drastic effects on all our lives. Worse, these things, should they be passed into law, will not be easily repealed when a new administration comes into power. That is why we must do everything we can now to stop them -- before they are written into law.

Our country may not survive should we have to go through a period of time, no matter how short, with any of these iniquities in effect. Please work hard to save our country from destruction.


The President Without A Country

Thinking about these and other statements made by the man who wears the title of president. I keep wondering what country he believes he's president of.

In one of my very favorite stories, Edward Everett Hale's "The Man without a Country," a young Army lieutenant named Philip Nolan stands condemned for treason during the Revolutionary War, having come under the influence of Aaron Burr. When the judge asks him if he wishes to say anything before sentence is passed, young Nolan defiantly exclaims, "Damn the United States ! I wish I might never hear of the United States again!"

The stunned silence in the courtroom is palpable, pulsing. After a long pause, the judge soberly says to the angry lieutenant: "You have just pronounced your own sentence. You will never hear of the United States again.. I sentence you to spend the rest of your life at sea, on one or another of this country's naval vessels - under strict orders that no one will ever speak to you again about the country you have just cursed."

And so it was. Philip Nolan was taken away and spent the next 40 years at sea, never hearing anything but an occasional slip of the tongue about America. The last few pages of the story, recounting Nolan's dying hours in his small stateroom - now turned into a shrine to the country he fore swore - never fail to bring me to tears. And I find my own love for this dream, this miracle called America , refreshed and renewed. I know how blessed and unique we are.

But reading and hearing the audacious, shocking statements of the man who was recently elected our president - a young black man living the impossible dream of millions of young Americans, past and present, black and white - I want to ask him, "Just what country do you think you're president of?"

You surely can't be referring to the United States of America , can you? America is emphatically a Christian nation, and has been from its inception! Seventy percent of her citizens identify themselves as Christian. The Declaration of Independence and our Constitution were framed, written and ratified by Christians. It's because this was, and is, a nation built on and guided by Judeo-Christian biblical principles that you, sir, have had the inestimable privilege of being elected her president.

You studied law at Harvard, didn't you, sir? You taught constitutional law in Chicago ? Did you not ever read the statement of John Jay, the first Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and an author of the landmark "Federalist Papers": "Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers - and it is the duty, as well as the privilege and interest of our Christian nation - to select and prefer Christians for their rulers"?

In your studies, you surely must have read the decision of the Supreme Court in 1892: "Our lives and our institutions must necessarily be based upon and embody the teachings of the Redeemer of mankind. It is impossible that it should be otherwise; and in this sense and to this extent our civilization and our institutions are emphatically Christian."

Did your professors have you skip over all the high-court decisions right up till the mid 1900's that echoed and reinforced these views and intentions? Did you pick up the history of American jurisprudence only in 1947, when for the first time a phrase coined by Thomas Jefferson about a "wall of separation between church and state" was used to deny some specific religious expression - contrary to Jefferson' s intent with that statement?

Or, wait a minute . Were your ideas about America 's Christianity formed during the 20 years you were a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ under your pastor, Jeremiah Wright? Is that where you got the idea that " America is no longer a Christian nation"? Is this where you, even as you came to call yourself a Christian, formed the belief that " America has been arrogant"?

Even if that's the understandable explanation of your damning of your country and accusing the whole nation (not just a few military officials trying their best to keep more Americans from being murdered by jihadists) of "not always living up to her ideals," how did you come up with the ridiculous, alarming notion that we might be "considered a Muslim nation"?

Is it because there are some 2 million or more Muslims living here, trying to be good Americans? Out of a current population of over 300 million, 70 percent of whom are Christians? Does that make us, by any rational definition, a "Muslim nation"?

Why are we not, then, a "Chinese nation"? A "Korean nation"? Even a "Vietnamese nation"? There are even more of these distinct groups in America than Muslims. And if the distinction you're trying to make is a religious one, why is America not "a Jewish nation"? There's actually a case to be made for the latter, because our Constitution - and the success of our Revolution and founding - owe a deep debt to our Jewish brothers.

Have you stopped to think what an actual Muslim America would be like? Have you ever really spent much time in Iran? Even in Egypt? You, having been instructed in Islam as a kid at a Muslim school in Indonesia and saying you still love the call to evening prayers, can surely picture our nation founded on the Quran, not the Judeo-Christian Bible, and living under Shariah law. Can't you? You do recall Muhammad's directives [Surah 9:5,73] to "break the cross" and "kill the infidel"?

It seems increasingly and painfully obvious that you are more influenced by your upbringing and questionable education than most suspected. If you consider yourself the president of a people who are "no longer Christian," who have "failed to live up to our ideals," who "have been arrogant," and might even be "considered Muslim" - you are president of a country most Americans don't recognize.

Could it be you are a president without a country?

"Just Do It!"

From a very astute American:

Every responsible health care suggestion put forth over the last 20 years has been shot down by Democrats because they are not political solutions, i.e., they actually improve the situation for Americans, but they don’t pay off supporters or create a new, reliable voting block.
 On the other hand, every single Democratic bill or plan isn’t a practical or logical solution. Theirs are political solutions.

The mis-named “Stimulus Plan” was a perfect example. It wasn’t designed to “stimulate” anything, which is why it did not. It was a political bill packed with paybacks to special interest groups, and bribes for future votes. We are talking about a ¾ trillion-dollar waste of taxpayers’ money.

What an unimaginable waste of the citizens’ trust!

I can only conclude that those who are insisting that the Democrats “do something” are non-taxpayers who have visions, [as promised by Mr. Obama] of free medical care, [free housing, free cars, free everything] dancing in their heads. Everyone else, except for the members of Congress, the UAW, [the NEA, and the unions in general], all of who are interestingly and strangely exempt from the bill’s provisions, will get absolutely shafted if the Democrats “do” anything.

Responsible stewardship is nowhere to be seen from [the] party in power. Their supporters sound alarmingly like a “Nike©” commercial – “Just do it!”

I regret I cannot give proper attribution to the above; it was an anonymous post on USA Today. The commentary is simple, straightforward, and clear in its message. We should hope and pray for the same measure of directness and honesty from our selected representatives in Washington!

The more we have seen and heard of the various “plans” being batted about, the more fear has grown throughout the population. True, those of us who are most fearful of what may be finally concocted by the current administration, and possibly imposed on us despite our protests and refusals, are those of us who know that the price will be placed directly at our feet: increased taxes to pay for services we do not want, and reduced access to the type of coverage we may want for ourselves.

Despite these very real concerns from a great number of the population, those who did not vote for Mr. Obama, now being augmented by many who did vote for him for the wrong reasons, the current administration still appears to be bent on utilizing “just do it” as a reason to push these plans on us all.

All of these behaviors on the part of our selected officials lead to one thought: who do they think they are? On what basis do they feel they truly know what is best for us, despite our protests? When did our Republic transform itself into a pseudo-dictatorship?

My answer:

They think that they received a mandate to rule by their electoral win on 11/04/08.

They think they have been given carte blanche to impose whatever they wish because supposedly “everyone” is behind them.

They want to believe that the 47% of the population that did not vote for them were merely “wrong, and did not realize what they were doing.” Those fantasies are the only manner in which they are able to continue to operate in the manner in which they have been, despite strong evidence to the contrary.

We the People have the opportunity to “respectfully disagree” with them in 2010. I truly hope that the majority take that opportunity to heart.

“Respect” and Town Hall Meetings

The aspect that has struck me the most about reports of recent Town Hall Meetings is the insistence on "respectfulness" from the attendees. This demand has been made not only by our "selected officials" but has also been reiterated by several news commentators, including some I have come to respect for their opinions.

I find the demand for "respect" incredibly inappropriate on all their parts. On what basis are they—the news commentators as well as the public officials—demanding this "respect?"

Those of us who are fortunate enough to attend a Town Hall Meeting are those in this country who are simply fed up, tired, exhausted of hearing the bromides and pabulum, the blather from those We the People have selected to represent us – to serve us – their constituents.

They are no better than we are – they are, in essence – us. They are the same folks as we are, from the same general types of backgrounds, neighborhoods, regions, and states. The only difference is they have been selected by vote – not crowned, anointed or elevated – to be our voices in the government.

In other words, they are merely representatives of the governed, and by our selecting them, we thereby give our consent as the governed, to their representation of us. That consent can be withdrawn in many ways, prior to the next opportunity to vote.

That consent, however, does not mean that they suddenly become our “betters”; nor does it mean that we, the governed, are now beholden to them in any way. Our votes selecting them to be our representatives do not automatically imbue them with a sudden aura of being “more deserving" of anything, including our "respect."

“Respect” should flow in two directions, not merely in one. We the People who have voted for our selected representatives are also owed “respect” by those selected representatives.

Our selected representatives and certain news reporters must remember the fundamental reasons for the ire expressed so vocally in some Town Hall Meetings. Some of our selected representatives and news reporters, such as Mr. Dingle, Ms. Sibelius, Mr. Kondracke, Ms. Boxer, Ms. Pelosi, Mr. Obama, Mr. Reid, and even, strangely enough, Mr. Krauthammer, seem to have forgotten the basic reason for the “excited” behavior witnessed at some Town Hall Meetings. The reason is very simple: We the People finally have center-stage and a “captive audience” to whom we can speak out directly; we realize we must take quick advantage of the opportunity, lest it be taken away.

These “meetings” are arranged under the premise that We the People will finally be provided personal, direct, unfiltered communication with our selected representatives. After years – in many cases – of sending letters, faxes, e-mails, and receiving nothing but “auto-replies,” those who can make the time, find the funds and energy to take advantage of the opportunity to express their concerns, fears, and doubts directly to a selected representative of We the People doubtless come prepared, with a list of grievances.

Some of the People have come to the meetings with a literal list – generally called "notes" and generally utilized even by the greater majority of "experienced" public speakers. In today's climate, however, if one of We the People utilizes the same methodology, we are to be denigrated and insulted by those very representatives who are selected to listen to us.

The list of grievances many of We the People have has no doubt been greatly lengthened in the past several months due to the amount of unknown facts relative to the biggest issue before us as a country at this moment: “health care reform,” so called – though, interestingly enough, suddenly transformed into "health insurance reform."

Is it any wonder so many of We the People have so many doubts, concerns, and questions?

This is one other item that Mr. Obama spoke of during his year-and-a-half long campaign, but one that was overshadowed – even for those who may not have been assimilated by the “Hope-n-Change” mantra – by the many other disturbing aspects of the most recent "change" of guard in our Nation's capitol.

We the People tend to be slow in general in fully understanding the machinations of our selected representatives. In this instance, however, even the slowest among We the People can understand the impact such a full revision (or "change," if you will) of an entire system as health care would have on all of We the People whether we want that “change” or not.

The reactions from We the People seen at the Town Hall Meetings represent the frustrations, anger, fear, and concerns that have built up in a great number of We the People during the past many months of simply being aghast at the behavior of our selected representatives.

We the People spoke out in conventional ways -- letters, faxes, e-mails – against the bail out of Fannie, Freddie (and the million dollar “gifts” to their CEOs), TARP, etc., proposed, and implemented by President Bush – We the People were ignored.

We the People spoke out in conventional ways – letters, faxes, e-mails – against the “stimuli” proposed and implemented by Mr. Obama – We the People were ignored.

We the People spoke out in conventional ways – letters, faxes, e-mails – against the auto industry bail-out, against the premise of “too big to fail” – We the People were ignored.

We the People spoke out in conventional ways – letters, faxes, e-mails – against incomprehensible bills that our own selected representatives admitted they had not read and did not understand, yet allowed to pass – We the People were ignored.

We the People spoke out in conventional ways – letters, faxes, e-mails – against the insidious “cap-n-trade” bill – We the People were ignored.

It would appear, then, that conventional ways of communicating with our selected representatives have become extremely ineffective.

We the People are merely ignored.

This behavior – ignoring their constituents without penalty – has clearly made our selected representatives bold in their hubris, permitting them to feel that they have established such control over their constituents – We the People – by merely ignoring our conventional communications that they could simply continue the same behavior even in “Town Hall” venues.

It is incredible, I think, that our selected representatives appear not only shocked that We the People dare to question them at Town Hall Meetings, but appear to feel insulted, as well.

That very same hubris has denied them the ability to understand the level of frustration, fear, anger, and concern that We the People have reached. It has become more and more evident that the desire of the party in power is to simply make We the People accept all declarations from on high – even a total “change” of our health care system – without daring to question. It is just as evident that they have convinced themselves – through their years of ignoring our conventional communications that We the Peopleall of us – had accepted all that came before without question.

It appears to have been beyond their scope to realize we were just ignoring them, for the most part, as long as they did not blatantly appear to wish to destroy our country.

Because We the People are now speaking out in apparently non-conventional ways, – questioning, emphatically expressing our fears and concerns – We the People are branded “disrespectful mobs,” "Astroturf," “fake,” and as merely expressing "manufactured outrage” by the very representatives selected to represent us, work for us, and listen to us. We are admonished, not only by our selected representatives but also by television personalities, (as intelligent and perspicacious as some may be), to be “respectful” to our selected representatives, under all circumstances.

[As an aside, it is no wonder that our selected representatives prefer to characterize the sincere and honest anger, fear, and concern expressed by We the People as “manufactured.” Did they not “manufacture” their supposed “outrage” at the “earmarks” in TARP – after they approved it? Were we not expected simply to accept that anger and outrage as “real,”– which we did? Are we not due the same consideration?]

None of the above, however, explains to us, We the People, on what basis we “owe respect” to those who do not wish to listen to our concerns and fears; who clearly feel we should be supplicants for their ear; who feel that We the People are beholden to them for all we have; who feel they not only know better than we (according to Ms. Pelosi) but, obviously, feel they are better that we.

That is not the basis of “respect!” That is certainly not the basis on which to attain mutual respect.

Our selected representatives are being faced with a situation, that, were it not for the increased apathy of a great number of We the People during the past generation or so, they would have had to face throughout their entire careers: a concerned, informed, and very vocal constituency.

Perhaps, had We the People been more demanding of our selected representatives all along – we would not, today, be deathly concerned by our selected representatives not listening to us – ignoring us once again – on an incredibly important and very personal issue that will inevitably affect our entire lives, from birth to death.

In the past several weeks, however, it has become more and more apparent that We the People can no longer express ourselves directly, vehemently, and passionately without fear of reprisals.

We can clearly no longer express ourselves without fear of being berated, insulted, and denigrated by those very selected representatives on whom we allowed ourselves to depend, expecting them to work in the best interests of all.

We are clearly witnessing the death of our Nation.

Rules for "Mobsters"

The following is a copy of ane-mail that was acquired by a group trying to help We the People stay informed and aware of what we're up against if we disagree with anything this Administration wants to do. This is a fairly long document but well-worth reading; we must stay aware of how We the People are being represented as far as the left is concerned, simply because we disagree with them!

The text below details the description the left wants to disseminate of those of us who attend "Tea Parties" (aka anti-tax increase rallies) and who go to "Town Hall" Meetings to express our Constitutional right to Free Speech and lawful protest against government decisions with which we do not agree.

The premises expressed in the e-mail text below make very clear that no longer is it the Constitutional right of We the People to speak out against government plans and decisions. No longer is it the Constitutional right of We the People to have the opportunity to speak our minds directly to our elected representatives.

Rather, it appears that someone, somewhere, somehow, has decided that it is We the People who must merely sit quiet and accepting as we are told by our betters (according to Ms. Sibelius and AARP) what we need to know, what must think, and with what we must agree.

Well . . . a whole great big section of We the People heartily disagree with that premise and we are not afraid to express our disagreement!

We the People who are not in total willingly-blind lockstep agreement with the current Administration's policies are to be demonized, insulted, misrepresented, lied about, have our characters assassinated, and, in sum, completely disregarded. We are not to be characterized as Americans who disagree, but as "radical right-wingers," a term heretofore applied to neo-nazis and that ilk. (The implication being that We the People are just as "dangerous" as they are.)

The administration's supporters, however, have determined that, since there appears to be an ever-growing number of those of us who disagree and are speaking out, they must employ harsher tactics to maintain the impression of full, complete, and total agreement with their plans. Please note that "HCAN," the group pushing "health care reform" most strongly, is directly affiliated with ACORN, particularly, and SEIU, the group that did so much to throw so much doubt on the voter registration process in the 2008 Presidential election process . . . with help, don't forget, from the "new" Black Panthers. The SEIU made themselves known very recently with their beating of an entrepreneur vendor at a Town Hall Meeting in Florida.  (He was selling "Don't Tread on Me" items.)

None of these tactics should surprise us, however. They were clearly explained in Mr. Obama's own writings; examples of the methodologies to be applied against disagreement were given in the left's treatment of Mr. Wurzelbacher during the campaign; and, most recently, in their treatment of Governor Palin, her husband, and her children.  Similar tactical instructions are included in the e-mail reproduced below.

The "guidance" described below reflects the extent to which the liberal left will go to denigrate, lie about, and completely misrepresent Americans who do not agree with them. Not only do they wish to completely disregard, ignore, and ultimately destroy the 47% of us who voted against this administration on November 4, 2008, but also they also now want to completely silence us through intimidation and fear tactics.

One has to wonder, however . . . why should it be necessary for the "community organizers" on the left to be so concerned about keeping the other side quiet if -- as they contend -- the "majority" of the American people are supportive of their plans?  If that were true, there would be no concern on their part should a "buncha loony conservative extremists" be vocal in their opposition, would there?

Their caustic, extreme, and harsh reaction toward fellow Americans merely reinforces the fear they constantly attempt to hide: the fear that their "message" is understood to be merely what it is -- scare tactics, threats, intimidation.  Above all, their reaction is reflective of their fear that We the People are coming to realize and understand the future they want for us . . . and we are rejecting it wholeheartedly:  We will not be made into mindless, unthinking mannekins waiting to be "given" everything we are "told" we should have.

If you care more about our country and our future as a country than about being smeared by the left, please pass this on to everyone you know, from "both sides of the aisle," as they say. We all must be aware of the tactics being used these days, more overtly than ever before, and be ready to guard against them, respond to them, and stand up fearlessly for our beliefs.

These are the types of talking points being sent to the left in order to stop the hard-working American people from being heard. Remember, we are going against the Chicago Mob. At this time, they have now taken over our nations Capitol and are trying to implement their Marxist ideologies into legislative policies.

Since early February, we've seen increasing numbers of militant right-wing activists attending public meetings across the country targeting Members of Congress and [Alleged] President Obama. Now in the August recess, the “tea-bagger” protesters and right-wing activists are showing up in larger numbers with a mission to be as disruptive as possible in the hopes of rattling Members of Congress and halting health care reform through pure spectacle and obstruction.

Our response is shaped by 3 things: Our targets are Members of Congress who must vote “yes” for this bill. Our targets are not the rightwing extremists. The targets of these attacks are Members of Congress. Those Members are also our targets. We need to use these attacks as opportunities to work with the Members in ways that build our relationship in the field and bring us together as allies in health care reform. Members may be more receptive to partnering with us if they know we will help them combat the opposition.

Our core message is effective, and we should always come back to it. Our campaign plan has always anticipated opposition. No matter what the right-wingers bring up to distract the debate, we should always circle back to our key message. We are on the side of quality, affordable health care for everyone, and we are against turning over health care reform to the insurance companies and lobbyists who got us into this mess to begin with. We need to educate the press and the public that the protesters are aligned with the corporate lobbyists and insurance companies who are trying to stop reform.

Our ability to put the extremists into perspective helps us frame our narrative. We should be prepared to respond to the other side, but we don't need to be reactive or feel pressure to answer their accusations point by point. Instead, we should treat them as agents of the insurance lobbyists who want to maintain the status quo. We can dismiss their radical rhetoric by circling back to the basic things that we know most people care about—affordability, access, and quality.

In many cases, protestors will show up at events or meetings you don't organize but are participating in as an attendee or sponsor. You can still influence the outcome of these events or meetings, and it’s important for HCAN organizers and leaders to be ready to encounter these protesters in order to make sure that our volunteers and activists respond appropriately as well as capitalize on opportunities to also move our message, work with Members, and educate the public.

Who are these people?

The people who show up are far right-wing ideologues recruited by paid organizers. Much of this recruitment and organizing is funded by industry lobbyists and public relations firms to engage radical right-wing groups. Many of these groups are motivated by far right ideology in general - not by health care as an issue. They are held together by a common vision of the world that centers on defeating Obama and his agenda. We can expect to see anti-abortion groups, pro-gun groups, insurance company employees (mandated by employers to come out), militia groups, and anti immigration groups.

What are their goals in turning out disruptive mobs?

Their goal is to stop Obama, influence the media, and scare Members of Congress into thinking that there is more resistance to health care reform than really exists. The attendees are not reflective of the middle or average Republican Party member. Insurance industry lobbyists and public relations firms recruit mostly right-wing extremists who are willing to employ militant tactics in order to demonize Obama by tapping into fear and anger in the electorate. The fear comes from both aggressive communications tactics and rhetoric: anti-tax, anti-abortion, anti-immigration, and other themes that resonate with the farthest right wing of their party.

What is the strategy of the lobbyists and right-wingers who are orchestrating these protests?

The most important thing to remember about this type of mobilization is that it is foremost a media strategy, not an organizing strategy. These angry mobs are not trying to persuade Members of Congress or the folks who are attending the event about their point of view.

Their goal is to disrupt the event as much as possible in order to:

1. Prevent our message from getting out.

2. Scare Members of Congress into silence and submission.

3. Paint a picture for the media that conveys widespread disapproval for health care reform in order to influence the narrative.

4. Create as much tension as possible at these events so that the average spectator is completely turned off and disengages totally from this issue.

What can we expect them to do?

They will be loud: They will “Yell, stand up and shout out, and rattle” the Members of Congress. They will be disruptive and not follow the agenda. They won't wait for an opening to speak. They will just interrupt and shout from the minute the event opens until it ends.

They will paint a picture: They will carry a lot of signs. They will have gimmicks and props to get attention from the MOCs and from the media.

They will look bigger than they are: They will spread out and distribute their signs widely. They will also get in front of any TV camera or press people in order to make sure the story that is reported is their story.

They will seek confrontation: The right-wing protesters will foster confrontation at every turn because that’s what draws media and distracts the public. They will use any means to do this including abusive language, arrests, props, and physical violence. Be prepared.

How should we prepare to encounter the right wing protesters at MOC events?

1. Contact friendly MOCs and let them know you are coming to make sure our side is heard and that the event is positive. Provide constructive support for Members of Congress who are holding public events to promote health care reform by turning out constituents and anticipating problems ahead of time.

2. Ask the Member’s staff what would be most helpful and talk through a strategy for making sure the right messages don't get drowned out by chaotic protesters.

3. Inoculate your staff and your volunteers by telling them what to expect and what purpose lies behind the right-wing demonstrations. The more that the attendees know what to expect; the less startled they will be by the irrational tone and militancy of the protesters.

4. Bring more people than the other side has. Their side will be smaller but noisier. You must bring enough people to drown them out and to cover all our bases so as to marginalize their disruptive tactics. You don't want to get into a screaming match, but it must be obvious to everyone—including press—that you represent the majority.

5. Arrive earlier than the other side does. We need to stack our folks in the front to create a wall around the Member, and we need to stake out the best spots for visibility and signs. Reconnaissance on the venue and an understanding of the staging will be important here. Make sure you do your homework so you can position your folks most effectively.

6. Be more visible than the other side. Bring more signs and leaflets, and whenever possible, post your signs all over the place so that you visually out-perform the other side. Make sure you have people holding signs in every place where a TV camera is likely to be and that next to every right wing sign, there’s one of your signs with your message.

7. Have a real plan for the media. Remember, this is a communications strategy that the right wing is using and our goal is to stop them from hijacking and changing the message and tone of these events. Assign 3-5 people to speak with the reporters who attend and make sure the reporters understand the scope and message of the event. If you let the media just report on what they see, they will invariably focus on the mayhem. That is a far juicer story than affordability and the public health insurance option.

Don’t wait for the reporter to approach you. You must approach the reporters and be assertive in shaping the narrative that they write.

Have someone assigned to greeting the media or checking in media as they arrive. That way you will know who they are and be able to work with them both during the event and afterwards. Also, plan to record both the events you attend and the events you organize. TV stations will use amateur footage to round out their stories, and the other side is recording and posting video online. We need to be able to give the press video of successful events too.

How should we interact/what do we say to the other side?

1. Do not debate on their “policy” points. Remember, they are seeking a platform to distort the truth about reform by making health care about abortion, rationing, euthanasia, etc. Rather than try to reply with the truth (which won't move them anyway) we should respond with our message and at every turn re-focus the agenda on communicating with the Member of Congress.

2. Interrupt them when they get disruptive and refocus the meeting: Line up a number of people who feel comfortable interrupting and prepare them with statements like: “Excuse me, I came today to listen to Representative XXX explain how this bill is going to make health care more affordable for me and my family. We’re being gouged by insurance companies that just want to make more profits while we struggle to keep up with premiums and co-pays. Representative, how are you going to fix that?”  “I’m retired and can’t afford my prescription drugs because I’m on a fixed income. Representative, how is this bill going to affect me?”  “I want to hear the Representative speak. He’s the one voting on the bill. Representative, how will this bill help people who already have insurance at work?”  “What I'm worried about is how we're going to keep the insurance companies from continuing to charge people more for being sick and keep them from taking away coverage when we need it most. What’s the plan for that?”

3. Don’t get into a shouting match with them. Instead, prep people on our side to keep raising the questions that we want answered. Repetition is the key. We need to arm our side with questions that play to the strength of our message and make sure we keep bringing them up over and over so that the press recognizes those central themes. We should also phrase those questions strategically to help move the message.  “Over the last XX years, insurance company profits have risen XXX %; in this bill you would regulate insurance companies so that they can no longer deny people with pre-existing conditions and would have to play by fair rules. Isn't that right, Representative XX?”  “Isn't it true that this bill would guarantee everyone a choice of public health insurance option that will lower cost overall in the system?”

4. Address the MOC directly with a positive message: Remember, these Members need cover and they are getting beaten up by right wing zealots in these meetings. We want to let the Member know that we appreciate his efforts to hear constituents and that we, the majority, agree with him.

5. We should demonstrate that we are the majority by chanting: When the other side gets too loud, we should shut them down with chants that counter their message like “Health Care Can't Wait!” and “Health Care Delayed is Health Care Denied” and prep people to chant at key points when the other side gets most disruptive.

6. Follow up with the Member one-on-one: This experience may have been trying for your MOC. Make sure that you thank him and that you let him know that the majority is with him. He needs to know that we will provide cover and support him at every turn for his leadership on this issue.

Organizing your own events with a Member of Congress

One advantage to organizing your own Town Hall or public event with Members of Congress is that you will have much more control over the event and limit the other side’s opportunities for disruption. Still, you should take precautions to make sure that you can keep meetings you organize under control.

Here are some basic tips:

a. Talk to the Member of Congress ahead of time so that you agree on a format that is comfortable for the Member and that you can troubleshoot roles or concerns that the Member may have about the event. It is important to know how much time the Member will have, when he will arrive, what staff he’s bringing, and how many questions he'll answer so that you can anticipate any issues that may arise and can plan your program appropriately.

b. Know who you are turning out to attend the event. Make sure you turn out a substantial number of people from your base and that everyone signs a sign in sheet upon entering the event. Give everyone name tags so they are easily identifiable. If you want to ensure greater control over turnout, you can ask attendees to rsvp or even issue tickets to the event and require presentation of the ticket at the entrance.

c. Choose a venue that is difficult for the opposition to access without being noticed. Get to your location early and make sure you set up the venue in a way that ensures that the attendees you want are at the front and that any protesters who come are sequestered as far as possible from the stage. Make sure that you have signs and visuals up and that you adequately understand the layout of your venue so that you know where the entrances are, where the press will be positioned, where your speakers will be, etc.

d. Select a strong moderator to move the agenda in a disciplined way. Make sure you select someone who is comfortable interrupting rowdy protesters, who can command the attention of the room, and who understands how to de-escalate tensions and re-direct people to the agenda.

e. Lay out goals for the meeting and establish ground rules for conduct in the meeting at the beginning of the event. Among these ground rules should be a protocol for asking questions. One way to do this is to ask people to submit questions ahead of time on cards, to permit only one question at a time, and to limit the topic of questions.

f. Plan for disturbances and assign marshals. Make sure that you assign marshals to take care of moving the crowd, keeping people organized and orderly, and acting as security should any need arise to ask noisy or disruptive protesters to leave. If you have cause to think that you will need more back-up, notify the police ahead of time.

g. Collect signs and leaflets that are not provided by you or your organization. Another way to limit protesters’ ability to hijack your event is to confiscate signs or leaflets that they may bring into the venue from outside. The best way to do this is to make a blanket rule that no one can bring signs or leaflets and to advertise this fact as you do turn out in the weeks preceding the event. You can distribute your own signs in the event and offer them one as they enter if you choose to allow them to enter.

h. Assign people to greet the media and to stay close to reporters both as they enter and leave the event. It’s important that you take away right-wingers opportunities to talk with reporters by making sure that your staff or leaders are in constant contact with the media who attend. You should set up a special table or area for the press to sit during the event and that area should be close t the stage and away from any areas of the venue where protesters may gather. Also make sure you have materials ready for the reporters so that they know the purpose and message of the event.

Divorce Agreement

Dear American liberals, leftists, social progressives, socialists, Marxists, Obama supporters, et al:

We have stuck together since the late 1950's, but the whole of this latest election process has made me realize that I want a divorce.  I know, we tolerated each other for many years for the sake of future generations, but, sadly, this relationship has run its course.  Our two ideological sides of America cannot, and will not ever agree on what is "right," so let's just end it on friendly terms.  We can smile, chalk it up to irreconcilable differences, and go our own ways.

Here is a model separation agreement:

Our two groups can equitably divide the country by landmass: each taking a portion.  That will be the difficult part, but I am sure our two sides can come to a friendly agreement.  After that, it should be relatively easy!  Our respective representatives can effortlessly divide other assets since both sides have such distinct and disparate tastes.

We don't like {to} redistribute taxes {in order for you to} keep them, {so we'll just stop participating in that nonsense}.  You are welcome to the liberal judges and the ACLU.  Since you hate guns and war, we'll take our firearms, the cops, the NRA, and the military.  You can keep Oprah, Michael Moore, and Rosie O'Donnell. (You are, however, {solely} responsible for finding a bio-diesel vehicle big enough to move all three of them).

We'll keep the Capitalism: greedy corporations, pharmaceutical companies, Wal-Mart, and Wall Street.  You can have your beloved homeless, homeboys, hippies, and illegal aliens.  We'll keep the hot Alaskan hockey moms, greedy CEOs, and rednecks.  We'll keep the Bibles {Churches of various denominations, prayers, “In God We Trust,” and Fox News} and give you NBC {CNBC, ABC, CBS, CNN; although we retain the option to watch for the entertainment/time filler value on slow real news nights} and Hollywood.

You can make nice with Iran and Palestine and we'll retain the right to invade and hammer places that threaten us.  You can have the peaceniks, and war protesters.  When our allies or our way of life are under assault, we'll help provide them security.

We'll keep our Judeo-Christian values... You are welcome to {radical} Islam, Scientology {and Tom -n-Katie}, Humanism, and Shirley MacLaine. You can also have the U.N., but we will no longer be paying the bill {for the privilege of being consistently insulted, threatened, and reviled}.

We'll keep the SUVs, pickup trucks, and oversized luxury cars {or even the small cute, sporty ones, if that’s the type we want and can afford to have}. You can take every Subaru station wagon you can find.

You can give everyone healthcare, if you can find any practicing doctors.  We'll continue to believe healthcare is a luxury and not a right. We'll keep The Battle Hymn of the Republic and the National Anthem.  I'm sure you'll be happy to substitute Imagine, I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing, Kum Ba Ya {sic}, or We Are the World.

Since it often so offends you we'll keep our history, our name, and our flag.  {We’ll continue to fly our American Flag high and proudly. You can alternate every “flag du jour” you want.}

We'll practice trickle down economics, and you can give trickle up poverty your best shot.

Would you agree to this?  If so, please pass it along to other like-minded liberal and conservative patriots {so that they, too, can sign the Divorce Agreement}.

In the spirit of friendly parting, I'll bet you ANWAR which one of us will need whose help in 15 years.

The Tax System Explained in Beer

This came off the 'net, via a "forward" and I unfortunately do not have an attribution. I would love to know who wrote this because this person is a genius.

If one does not already understand the dangers to our freedoms, our economy, and the future of our Country by now -- 7 months post 11/04/08 -- one either truly was hoping for this or truly had an immeasurable amount of naïveté and ignorance blocking the brain.

Read and weep ... or, better yet, read and bombard your elected officials in Washington to stop this madness.

Simplified Obamanomics

We have experienced [at least three years of bad policies,] specifically the years of the Democratic majority during President Bush’s administration. These bad policies were rushed through based on fear tactics. We have continued [since January 2009] to get the same thing.

Now, most especially, the rush is on, again, because our dedicated elected officials are rushing to get a bad bill through before they take their August vacation. This is, of course, without regard to logic, which demands that ANY THING done CORRECTLY has to be carefully planned, not rushed.

The tax system being pushed through under the guise of a much-needed “health care reform” is anything but carefully planned or thought through. The following is an explanation for the layman, the average “Joe,” who is, as always with anything planned out of Washington, overlooked completely.


The Tax System Explained in Beer

Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer, and the bill for all ten comes to $100.00. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would resemble something like the following breakdown:

The first four men, the poorest, would pay nothing for his portion of the beers.

• The fifth would pay $1.00 for his portion of the beers.

• The sixth would pay $3.00 for his portion of the beers.

• The seventh would pay $7.00 for his portion of the beers.

• The eighth would pay $12.00 for his portion of the beers.

• The ninth man would pay $18.00 for his portion of the beers.

• The tenth man, the richest, would pay $59.00 for his portion of the beers.

So that is what they decided to do. This went on for many years.

The 10 men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until one day, the owner threw them a curve and offered them a “change.”

“Since you are all such good customers,” he said, “I’m going to reduce the cost of your daily beer by $20.00, from $100.00 that all 10 of you pay now, to $80.00 for all 10.”

The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes so the first four men were unaffected; they would still drink for free.

But what about the other six men, the paying customers? How could they divide the $20.00 “savings” so that everyone in the group would get their fair share?

They realized that $20.00 divided by 6, the actual number of paying customers, is $3.33. But, if they subtracted that amount from everybody’s share, then the fifth and sixth men would each end up getting paid to drink their beer.

So, the bar owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man’s bill by roughly the same amount, and he proceeded to work out the amounts each would pay. According to the “change,” explained by the owner, the new breakdown came to:

• The fifth man, like the first four, would now pay nothing: a 100% “savings.”

• The sixth man now paid $2.00 instead of $3.00: a 33% “savings.”

• The seventh man now paid $5.00 instead of $7.00: a 28% “savings.”

• The eighth man now paid $9.00 instead of $12.00: a 25% “savings.”

• The ninth man now paid $14.00 instead of $18.00: a 22% “savings.”

• The tenth man now paid $49.00 instead of $59.00: a 16% “savings.”

Each of the six was better off than before; the first four continued to drink free of charge.

After the first few days of this “change,” the men compared their “savings.” They were a bit surprised at the conclusions.

“I only got a dollar out of the $20.00,” declared the sixth man. He pointed to the tenth man and said, “But he got $10.00!”

“Yeah, that’s right,” exclaimed the fifth man. “I only “saved” a dollar, too. It’s unfair that he got 10 times more than I did!”

“That’s true,” shouted the seventh man. “Why should he get $10.00 back when I only got $2.00? The wealthy get all the breaks!”

“Wait a minute,” yelled the first four men in unison. “We didn’t get anything at all! The system exploits the poor!”

The nine men surrounded the tenth man and beat him up.

The next night, the tenth man didn’t show up for drinks, so the nine sat down and had beers without him. When it came to pay the bill, though, they discovered something important: they did not have enough money between the 9 of them to pay even half the bill!

And that, boys and girls, journalists and college professors, is how our tax system works.

• The people who pay the highest taxes benefit most from a tax reduction.

Tax them too much, attack them for being wealthy, and they may just not show up anymore. In fact, they may start drinking overseas where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier.

Or . . . they may just shrug.

For those who understand, no explanation is needed. For those who do not understand, no explanation is possible.

"No, He Can't"

MCzwz Thinks:

This article is one that should have been very widely disseminated long before 11/04/08, but it is no surprise that it was not. In the atmosphere that developed in the year prior to and especially since that date, thoughts and opinions such as these are enough for the speaker to be not only ostracized, at best, but possibly persecuted, at worst, as in the retaliatory model applied to Sarah Palin.  Regardless, any who still respect courageous thinkers, true “free-thinkers” cannot help but do one’s utmost to ensure these thoughts are spread far and wide.

I but do my little part by posting Dr. Wortham’s extraordinary open letter here in the hope of bringing it to the attention of yet a few more people. My goal is to make even more people aware of the imperative need to avoid a repetition of the electoral results of 11/04/08.

The future of our country depends on it.

In fall 1988 she was one of a select group of intellectuals who were featured in Bill Moyers’ television series, “A World of Ideas.” The transcript of her conversation with Moyers has been published in his book, A World of Ideas.

Dr. Wortham is author of “The Other Side of Racism: A Philosophical Study of Black Race Consciousness” which analyzes how race consciousness is transformed into political strategies and policy issues.

She has published numerous articles on the implications of individual rights for civil rights policy, and is currently writing a book on theories of social and cultural marginality.

Recently, she has published articles on the significance of multiculturalism and Afrocentricism in education, the politics of victimization and the social and political impact of political correctness. Shortly after an interview in 2004, she was awarded tenure.


No He Can't

Fellow Americans,

Please know: I am Black; I grew up in the segregated South. I did not vote for Barack Obama; I wrote in Ron Paul’s name as my choice for president. Most importantly, I am not race conscious. I do not require a Black president to know that I am a person of worth, and that life is worth living. I do not require a Black president to love the ideal of America.

I cannot join you in your celebration. I feel no elation. There is no smile on my face. I am not jumping with joy. There are no tears of triumph in my eyes. For such emotions and behavior to come from me, I would have to deny all that I know about the requirements of human flourishing and survival – all that I know about the history of the United States of America , all that I know about American race relations, and all that I know about Barack Obama as a politician. I would have to deny the nature of the “change” that Obama asserts has come to America.

Most importantly, I would have to abnegate my certain understanding that you have chosen to sprint down the road to serfdom that we have been on for over a century. I would have to pretend that individual liberty has no value for the success of a human life. I would have to evade your rejection of the slender reed of capitalism on which your success and mine depend. I would have to think it somehow rational that 94 percent of the 12 million Blacks in this country voted for a man because he looks like them (that Blacks are permitted to play the race card), and that they were joined by self-declared “progressive” whites who voted for him because he doesn’t look like them.

I would have to wipe my mind clean of all that I know about the kind of people who have advised and taught Barack Obama and will fill posts in his administration – political intellectuals like my former colleagues at the Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.

I would have to believe that “fairness” is equivalent of justice. I would have to believe that a man who asks me to “go forward in a new spirit of service, in a new service of sacrifice” is speaking in my interest. I would have to accept the premise of a man that economic prosperity comes from the “bottom up,” and who arrogantly believes that he can will it into existence by the use of government force. I would have to admire a man who thinks the standard of living of the masses can be improved by destroying the most productive and the generators of wealth.

Finally, Americans, I would have to erase from my consciousness the scene of 125,000 screaming, crying, cheering people in Grant Park, Chicago irrationally chanting “Yes We Can!” Finally, I would have to wipe all memory of all the times I have heard politicians, pundits, journalists, editorialists, bloggers and intellectuals declare that capitalism is dead- and no one including, especially Alan Greenspan, objected to their assumption that the particular version of the anti-capitalistic mentality that they want to replace with their own version of anti-capitalism is anything remotely equivalent to capitalism.

So you have made history, Americans. You and your children have elected a Black man to the office of the president of the United States, the wounded giant of the world. The battle between John Wayne and Jane Fonda is over – and Fonda won. Eugene McCarthy and George McGovern must be very happy men. Jimmie Carter, too. And the Kennedys have at last gotten their Kennedy look-a-like. The self-righteous welfare statists in the suburbs can feel warm moments of satisfaction for having elected a Black person.

So, toast yourselves: 60s countercultural radicals, 80s yuppies and 90s bourgeois bohemians. Toast yourselves, Black America. Shout your glee Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Duke, Stanford, and Berkeley. You have elected not an individual who is qualified to be president, but a Black man who, like the pragmatist Franklin Roosevelt, promises to – Do Something! You now have someone who has picked up the baton of Lyndon Johnson’s Great Society. But you have also foolishly traded your freedom and mine – what little there is left – for the chance to feel good.

There is nothing in me that can share your happy obliviousness.

A New Age Fairy Tale of "Change" . . . or An Accurate Warning . . .

A Truly Cautionary Tale

And it came to pass in the Age of Insanity that the people of the land called America, having lost their morals, their initiative, and their will to defend their liberties, chose as their Supreme Leader that person known as "The One."

He emerged from the vapors with a message that had no meaning; but He hypnotized the people telling them, "I am sent to save you. My lack of experience, my questionable ethics, my monstrous ego, and my association with evil doers are of no consequence. For I shall save you with Hope and Change.

"Go, therefore, and proclaim throughout the land that he who preceded me is evil, that he has defiled the nation, and that all he has built must be destroyed."

And the people rejoiced, for even though they knew not what "The One" would do, he had promised that it was good; and they believed.

And "The One" said "We live in the greatest country in the world. Help me change everything about it!"

And the people said, "Hallelujah! Change is good!"

Then He said, "We are going to tax the rich fat-cats." And the people said "Sock it to them!  And redistribute their wealth." 

And the people said, "Show us the money!"

And then He said, "Redistribution of wealth is good for everybody"

And Joe the plumber asked, "Are you kidding me? You're going to steal my money and give it to the
deadbeats??"  And "The One" ridiculed and taunted him, and Joe's personal records were hacked and publicized. ...

One lone reporter asked, "Isn't that Marxist policy?" And she was banished from the kingdom!

Then a citizen asked, "With no foreign relations experience and having zero military experience or knowledge, how will you deal with radical terrorists?"

And "The One" said, "Simple. I shall sit with them and talk with them and show them how nice we really are; and they will forget that they ever wanted to kill us all!"

And the people said, "Hallelujah!! We are safe at last, and we can beat our weapons into free cars for the people!"

Then "The One" said, "I shall give 95% of you lower taxes."

And one, lone voice said, "But 40% of us don't pay ANY taxes."
So "The One" said, "Then I shall give you some of the taxes the fat-cats pay!"

And the people said, "Hallelujah!! Show us the money!"

Then "The One" said, "I shall tax your Capital Gains when you sell your homes!"

And the people yawned and the slumping housing market collapsed.

And He said, "I shall mandate employer-funded health care for EVERY worker and raise the minimum wage.  And I shall give every person unlimited health care and medicine and transportation to the clinics."

And the people said, "Give me some of that!"

Then he said, "I shall penalize employers who ship jobs overseas."

And the people said, "Where's my rebate check?"

Then "The One" said, "I shall bankrupt the coal industry and electricity rates will skyrocket!"

And the people said, "Coal is dirty, coal is evil, no more coal! But we don't care for that part about higher electric rates."

So "The One" said, "Not to worry. If your rebate isn't enough to cover your expenses, we shall bail you out. Just sign up with ACORN and your troubles are over!"

Then He said, "Illegal immigrants feel scorned and slighted. Let's grant them amnesty, Social Security, free education, free lunches, free medical care, bi-lingual signs and guaranteed housing..."

And the people said, "Hallelujah!!" And they made him King!

And so it came to pass that employers, facing spiraling costs and ever-higher taxes, raised their prices and laid off workers. Others simply gave up and went out of business and the economy sank like unto a rock dropped from a cliff. The banking industry was destroyed. Manufacturing slowed to a crawl. And more of the people were without a means of support.

Then "The One" said, "I am the "The One" - The Messiah - and I'm here to save you! We shall just print more money so everyone will have enough!"

But our foreign trading partners said unto Him, "Wait a minute. Your dollar is not worth a pile of camel dung! You will have to pay more..."

And the people said, "Wait a minute. That is unfair!!"

And the world said, "Neither are these other idiotic programs you have embraced. Lo, you have become a Socialist state and a second-rate power. Now you shall play by our rules!"

And the people cried out, "Alas, alas!! What have we done?"

But yea verily, it was too late. The people set upon "The One" and spat upon him and stoned him, and his name was dung. And the once mighty nation was no more; and the once proud people were without sustenance or shelter or hope. And the Change "The One" had given them was as like unto a poison that had destroyed them and like a whirlwind that consumed all that they had built.

And the people beat their chests in despair and cried out in anguish, "Give us back our nation and our pride and our hope!!"  But it was too late, and their homeland was no more.

Independence Day

Patriotism has become more of a "dirty word" in recent years than the actual words with horrid, unsavory connotations ever were.

To be "patriotic" and to "love one's country" and to be "proud of one's country" are considered, by those who supposedly know, to be old-fashioned, at best, or sins, at worst, in many circles.

On any 4th of July, however, it is good to find the words on which this country was created and grew to be the country many, many, Americans still cherish today.  It is good to see and read these words and hope that some out there will be reminded of the hope our country represented -- and most certainly still represents -- to the entire world,  in spite of the many native-born who revile her.

When We the People who are proud of our country on a daily basis hear others revile and denigrate her, let us remember these words from those who created her and improved her throughout her history and let us all say, with great feeling, respect, and love:  "God Bless America!"

Obama's Lies -- and YOUR Money

Ann Coulter always says it so much better than I!  Read on and be edified, if not at least informed. . .


You know what really irritates me about liberals? (Besides the fact that they're spineless little girls in pretty dresses who can't play rough because it musses up their hair...)

They always think liberalism fixes the problem -- even when it was liberalism that caused the problem in the first place!

Case in point, the Financial Meltdown of 2008 (and counting). To hear liberals tell it, it all goes back to Ronald Reagan -- who with his seductive "B-actor" charm fooled America into thinking that by slashing taxes, regulation, and government spending we could unleash free enterprise and create a new wave of prosperity.

Sure, liberals concede, that seemed to work for, oh, the better part of three decades, but now we're paying the price for all that "greed." The solution? A return to the pre-Reagan policies of Jimmy Carter, LBJ, FDR... Speaking of which, what will victory look like in the "War on Poverty"? When are they going to produce an "exit strategy" from that quagmire?

Unfortunately, the facts -- as always when you're talking about liberal theories -- tell a different story. A story in which all the major villains, it turns out, have one thing in common: government.

That's right. From the "Community Reinvestment Act" that pressured banks into affirmative-action lending, to those "government-sponsored enterprises" Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac -- who bought up all the resulting subprime loans and repackaged them as "investment grade" securities -- the greasy thumb-prints of government were all over this fiasco from beginning to end.

But those, as I say, are facts. And facts have no place in the fantasy world of Democratic policy-makers. Nor does history -- true history, that is, as opposed to the public-school propaganda that teaches, for instance, that FDR's New Deal got us out of the Great Depression, when in reality it only deepened and prolonged it.

But the question remains: What can those of us in the fast-dwindling, Reality-Based Community do to survive financially as the Obamacrats prepare a "New New Deal" that threatens to outspend the original by about ten thousand to one?

Personally, I don't have a clue. But thank goodness I know of someone who does.

His name is Mark Skousen, Ph.D., editor of the investment newsletter Forecasts & Strategies -- and he just might be the smartest financial advisor working today.

Don't let that "Ph.D." fool you -- this is no pointy-headed leftist like Obama's economic team who seem to think that all the economy needs in order to flourish are more liberals running the economy.

Boy, did he get that right. And boy, has he gotten it right ever since:

  • Like when he issued a "sell everything" recommendation to his Forecasts & Strategies subscribers just 41 days before the stock market crash of 1987 -- then told them to get fully invested again several weeks later, just in time for the recovery.
  • And when he called the Gulf War of 1990 "a turning point for U.S. stocks" -- and the Dow subsequently began a bull market that didn't end for nearly 10 years.
  • And when he told his subscribers in 1995 that the NASDAQ would double, and then double again -- which is exactly what it did.
  • And when, just weeks before the NASDAQ collapsed in 2000, he warned his subscribers that tech stocks were dangerously overvalued.
  • And when, in 2006 -- more than two years before the financial meltdown -- he warned subscribers that "we clearly are headed for fiscal disaster," and showed them how to protect themselves.
What's Skousen's secret? I think it begins with understanding the real laws of economics -- not the warmed-over Marxism that passes for "new thinking" to Obama's media groupies.

And here's the best thing about Mark Skousen. He knows how to make you money no matter how bad things get in the financial markets and the economy overall.

After all, he points out, the late billionaire John Templeton -- whom Money magazine called "the greatest stock-picker of the 20th century" -- began to build his vast fortune in the depths of the Great Depression.

Maybe you're not looking to be a billionaire. Maybe you're just looking to keep your head above water while the Obamacrats do their best to sink the economy. Either way, Mark Skousen can help -- and I urge you to give his Forecasts & Strategies a try.
